Use Other provider when your email is not hosted by Google or Microsoft. Eva looks for the configuration published by your domain and fills in the servers when it can verify them.

Before you start

Have these ready:
  • The full email address
  • The mailbox password, not the hosting control panel password
  • An app password if your provider requires one
  • Your provider’s IMAP and SMTP details, in case they cannot be detected

Connect the email

1

Open Members

In Eva, go to Settings → Members. On the person’s row, select + Set up in the Email column.
2

Choose Other provider

Select Other provider — cPanel, Hostinger, Zoho, or other servers.
3

Enter the email

Eva looks for the configuration as soon as you finish entering the address.
Form with the detected provider and the IMAP and SMTP servers under the email field.

Eva detects the provider and servers as you type the address.

4

Review the result

If you see the provider name and the IMAP and SMTP servers, continue. If Eva shows Unverified suggestion, compare the servers with your provider’s details first.
5

Enter the password

Use the mailbox password or the required app password. Select Connect email.
If Eva recognizes Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, return to the picker and use the Google or Microsoft button. It is safer and does not require sharing a password.

Notes by provider

Use the email account password, not your cPanel login. If Eva cannot detect the servers, open Email Accounts → Connect Devices in cPanel and copy the secure IMAP and SMTP details into Advanced settings.
Use the password created for that mailbox. Eva normally detects and fills in Hostinger’s servers. If you changed them manually, compare them with the settings in hPanel.
First confirm which product you have. For Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy, use the Microsoft button. For Professional Email, choose Other provider and let Eva detect the settings.
Use the full address and that mailbox’s password. Eva fills in IONOS servers when the domain points directly to that provider.
Use the Private Email mailbox password. Eva normally fills in the same secure server for incoming and outgoing email.
iCloud requires an app password. Go to account.apple.com, open Sign-In and Security → App-Specific Passwords, and generate one for Eva. If it does not connect, open Advanced settings: the IMAP username may be the part before @icloud.com, while the SMTP username is the full address.
Yahoo requires an app password for external email clients. Generate one in your Yahoo account security settings and paste it into Eva instead of your regular password.

If Eva cannot find the configuration

1

Ask for secure settings

Ask your provider for the server and port for IMAP with SSL/TLS and SMTP with SSL/TLS. Do not use POP.
2

Open Advanced settings

Enter the servers, ports, and — if different — the IMAP and SMTP usernames.
Advanced section with IMAP and SMTP host, port and the optional usernames.

Advanced settings show servers, ports and usernames.

3

Connect and review the card

When finished, the card should show Other provider · Connected. Eva starts by importing email from the last 5 days.
If you just moved email to another provider, wait for the domain change to finish and use the new provider’s details. Then review how to reconnect after a migration.

Zoho-specific guide

Enable IMAP and create an app password before connecting.
