# Invoices, receipts and taxes

> Which document you get for what you pay in Eva depending on your country, how taxes are calculated, and what you need to deduct it.

Everything you pay for Eva comes with a document. Which one you get and which taxes it carries depends on one thing: your account's billing country, the one you choose in **Settings → Subscription**.

## If you are billed in Mexico

* You pay in pesos. Prices are shown before VAT and the 16 % IVA is added at checkout; Eva's summary and Stripe's charge show the same total.
* If you need a CFDI, answer "Yes, I need an invoice (CFDI)" before paying and complete your tax details once. From then on every charge generates your CFDI 4.0, downloadable (PDF and XML) in **Settings → Subscription → History**.
* If you are a company (persona moral) requesting a CFDI, the summary already includes the applicable withholdings (ISR 1.25 % and IVA 10.6667 %) and the charge is the net amount.
* Without an invoice, the charge is recorded as a general-public sale and no CFDI is issued.

## If you are billed outside Mexico

* You pay in US dollars. Eva AI invoices from Mexico and is not registered in your country, so the charge carries no local taxes: the total you see in Eva is exactly what Stripe charges.
* You receive Stripe's invoice by email with Eva AI's details as the seller (legal name, RFC and address) and yours as the buyer. You can also download it in **History**.
* For that invoice to be deductible, add your company's tax ID (NIT, RUC, EIN, depending on your country) in the "Your invoice" step before paying, or later in **Settings → Subscription → Invoice**. It is optional to buy, but without it the invoice only shows your company name and address.
* If your country requires you to withhold or self-assess taxes on payments to foreign providers, you apply that on your side; your accountant will know how.

## Changing country or currency

* Before paying you can switch freely between pesos and dollars with the "Pesos · Dólares" control; you confirm the country in the first step of checkout.
* With an active subscription the currency no longer changes (Stripe fixes it when the subscription is created). If you need to change it, message us and we will sort it out with you.
* If you are outside Mexico and picked the wrong country, you can correct it any time from the same control.

## Frequently asked questions

**Why did Stripe's total not match Eva's?** It no longer happens: Eva verifies the tax Stripe computed before sending you to pay and, if it differs, stops the payment and alerts us.

**Can I get a CFDI outside Mexico?** No. The CFDI is a Mexican document; outside Mexico the valid document is Stripe's invoice.

**Where do I see all my invoices?** In **Settings → Subscription → History**: every charge with its document.
